Welcome to My Digital Workshop

Hey there! I’m Harvey, and welcome to my personal corner of the internet. After months of thinking “I should really build a personal site,” I finally sat down and did it. This is where I’ll be sharing projects, experiments, and anything else that catches my curiosity.

The Stack

I built this site with Astro, Svelte, and Tailwind CSS—a combination that’s been a joy to work with.

Coming from a React background, I wanted something different for a content-focused site. Astro’s “zero JavaScript by default” philosophy means fast page loads and great SEO, while still letting me add interactive components when needed. That’s where Svelte comes in.

I’ve been casually learning Svelte, and this project was the perfect excuse to actually use it. After years of React, Svelte’s simplicity is refreshing—less boilerplate, straightforward reactivity, and syntax that just feels natural. For styling, Tailwind provides the speed and consistency I need without the overhead of managing separate CSS files.

The result? A site that loads instantly and can handle complex interactive features when the project calls for it.
